I am always tickled to read books about places I know exactly, i.e. not just set in Calgary but set in the North Hill Shopping Center and the condos above it, a few blocks away from where I used to live. I wonder how much that influenced what I thought about 419 (although the Calgary parts are the weakest in the intertwining stories).
